Union representatives GMB and security firm Mitie has struck a deal with London Heathrow which will benefit hundreds of security guards.
The agreement will benefit staff across all five of Heathrow's terminals, and is a recognition deal. Mitie will bargain with GMB over pay, terms and conditions; and will consult with GMB on any major changes that affect the workforce.
Trevlyn Mcleod, GMB organiser, said: “Heathrow security guards do a difficult and dangerous job keeping millions of people safe as they travel.
“Now thanks to this deal between GMB and Mitie they know they will have us in their corner if they need us.”
