Global Crossing Airlines Group (GlobalX) has appointed industry veteran Glen Gates as vice president - A321 Freighter Programs.
Gates is to depart Amerijet, where he was a vice president with responsibilities ranging from international commercial airmail to building a long-term cargo charter business.
“I am excited to join GlobalX and build our ad hoc charter business with the A321 freighter, the best in class narrowbody freighter,” said Gates, who previously worked at DHL Airways, Midway Airlines and Active Aero/USA Jet, among others.
“We are delighted Glen is joining us at GlobalX as we prepare to take delivery of our first two A321 freighters. We will look to him to build our ad hoc and long-term cargo charter business in the automotive parts, pharma, and other cargo sectors to complement our ACMI cargo charters on behalf of some of the leading airlines in the Americas,” said Ed Wegel, chair and chief executive of GlobalX.
