Former Bosch engineer Alexander Schmitz is to be GE Additive's next chief executive, GE announced on December 15.
Schmitz will report to Riccardo Procacci, who is moving from the GE Additive chief executive position to what GE said was an "expanded leadership role" at GE Aerospace.
Schmitz, who was also chief executive of Flexlink, said he is "thrilled" to join GE Additive. Procacci said GE Additive is to remain "a strategic business" for GE Aerospace.
In a separate statement, GE said GE Aerospace Systems president Brad Mottier will retire at the end of 2022 after more than four decades in the industry and two with GE.
GE chairman and chief executive H. Lawrence Culp, Jr thanked Mottier for "his many contributions as a long-time member of the GE Aerospace senior leadership team".
