Gazpromneft-Aero, the aviation fuel operator of Gazprom Neft, has continued the expansion of its global network with the acquisition of the refuelling complex at Osh International Airport in Kyrgyzstan.
It has taken a 51% share of the complex making it the 66th in Gazpromneft-Aero’s global network and its second in Kyrgyzstan following Manas International Airport which it operates as a joint venture with the Government of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
The Osh refuelling complex will provide into-the-wing refuelling for domestic and international flights with aviation fuel supplied by Gazpromneft-Aero’s oil refinery in Omsk.
Gazpromneft-Aero will invest in the refuelling complex infrastructure at Osh International Airport in accordance with international ground handling standards and introduce technical policies for fuel quality control and industrial and environmental safety.
Vladimir Yegorov, Gazpromneft-Aero’s CEO says: “The acquisition of the refuelling complex at Osh International Airport is an important investment in the development of our global network. Gazpromneft-Aero's global network expansion to more than 100 refuelling complexes is one of the key aims of the company’s development strategy until 2030. The new refuelling complex in Osh is the sixty-sixth in the global network and the second in Kyrgyzstan as we have been refuelling aircraft at Manas International Airport since 2011.”
Osh Airport is the second largest airport in the country and a major transport hub linking the southern regions with the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek. It operates international flights to more than 30 destinations, including Moscow, Delhi, and Istanbul. Flights are carried out by Avia Traffic, Air Manas, Tez Jet, Jazeera Airways, Aeroflot, S7 Group, Nordwind, Ural Airlines and others.
Refuelling at Manas International Airport is carried out by Gazpromneft-Aero Kyrgyzstan, a joint venture with the Government of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. The company has invested about RUB 300 million in the technological development of its refuelling complex infrastructure.
The modernisation programme has meant the Bishkek subsidiary was awarded the highest IATA fuel safety level status. The total refuelling volume amounted to more than 920,000 tons over 10 years.
Gazpromneft-Aero serves Aeroflot, Volga-Dnepr, Turkish Airlines, FlyDubai, China Southern Airlines, Air Astana, and other flights in the Kyrgyz capital. In 2021, Gazprom Neft began supplying high-tech JET A-1 aviation fuel produced by the Omsk Oil Refinery for regular and charter flights at the airport.
