Gatwick plane refuellers have ended their strike after representative union Unite secured a pay deal.
The workers voted to accept the 18-month deal by 92%. In addition, the workers will receive a 4.75% pay rise backdated to October 2024, plus an additional 1.75% from October 2025.
The deal also includes a reduction in the working week from 40 to 39 hours with no loss of pay backdated to October 2024. The reduction in the working week increases the hourly rate by 2.6%, thus bringing the full value of the pay deal to 9.1%.
The Redline Oil workers had taken two rounds of strike action in May, with all further industrial action now called off.
The deal also realigns the anniversary date with other Gatwick refuellers, as well as adjusting the timeline for sick pay, reducing the wait time from three days to one.
