Gatwick Airport reports £321 million loss for H1

The UK’s second largest airport, Gatwick Airport has reported a £321 million loss for H1.

Gatwick said it had reduced costs by moving all its operations into one terminal and held talks with its banks and bondholders over the impact of the crisis on its financial covenants. It also announced 600 layoffs earlier this week.

Gatwick’s passenger numbers dropped by 66% in H1, which revenues fall 61%. Gatwick is owned by VINCI Airports and Global Infrastructure Partners.
