Frontier Group CEO Barry Biffle has stepped down from his position, the company said yesterday (December 15). Biffle will remain in an advisory position until the end of the year.
The company's president James Dempsey will step in as interim CEO, effective immediately.
“The board of directors is deeply appreciative of Barry's leadership and dedicated service to Frontier over the past 11 years,” said Frontier's chair of the board Bill Franke.
The announcement from Frontier did not include a statement from Biffle.
Franke continued: "Jimmy has been an invaluable member of Frontier's senior leadership team for more than 10 years and has played an instrumental role in the company's evolution and growth during that time. We believe Jimmy is uniquely qualified to guide our airline into the future.”
“I look forward to partnering with our team to write Frontier's next chapter as we strive to create long-term value for all stakeholders,” said Dempsey.
Frontier said it expects its fourth-quarter 2025 results to be in line with guidance issued in November 2025.
The company guided capacity growth for the fourth quarter to be “roughly flat”, while adjusted diluted earnings per share are expected to be $0.04 to $0.20.
