Frontier Airlines has tabled a "major expansion" of its US mainland-Puerto Rico services by adding nonstop flights from several cities as part of an expanded service taking in 19 routes to the Caribbean island.
Frontier will begin offering flights to Ponce, Puerto Rico for the first time, along with more flights to San Juan and Aguadilla. A route from Cancun is to start in May along with the new US links, which will be from Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver and Detroit, Orlando and Tampa.
"Puerto Rico is a hugely popular destination for leisure travellers as well as the large population of Puerto Ricans residing in the U.S. who enjoy returning to the island to visit friends and family,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president, commercial, Frontier Airlines.
