Frontier Airlines will add nonstop service from Wilmington- New Castle Airport in Wilmington, Del. (ILG) to Atlanta, Ga. (ATL) and Detroit, Mich. (DTW) starting April 29, 2014. The addition of these two new cities brings the total number of routes served from the Wilmington/Philadelphia area to seven: Atlanta; Chicago-Midway; Denver; Detroit; Fort Myers; Orlando; and Tampa.
At Wilmington-New Castle Airport, Frontier customers can avoid the hassles and lines of airports like Baltimore and Philadelphia, says the airline.
“We are thrilled to add two new destinations from convenient Wilmington-New Castle Airport,” said David Siegel, Frontier’s CEO and president. “Customers who fly Frontier from Wilmington will enjoy a hassle-free experience and enjoy quick, convenient, affordable travel to popular destinations! And customers will find Frontier’s transparent everyday fares to offer great value.”
“We welcome expanded air travel options closer to home, as Frontier continues to serve this market,” said Delaware Governor Jack Markell. “We hope Delawareans will take advantage of the added routes and Frontier will find success in providing new opportunities for airline travel from Delaware.”
“We are excited that Frontier Airlines will continue its corporate growth strategy at Wilmington-New Castle Airport by adding the destinations of Atlanta and Detroit next spring,” said Stephen Williams, Airports Director for the Delaware River and Bay Authority. “The customer response has been overwhelmingly positive.
