Freebird Airlines is expanding its route network from Cologne Bonn Airport for the summer 2026 season, adding a series of leisure destinations as it marks its 25th year in operation.
The Turkey and Malta registered airline will introduce new services from the German airport to Heraklion, Kos, Rhodes, Fuerteventura and Pristina, alongside its existing daily flights to Antalya. Services will be operated in cooperation with its sister carrier, Freebird Airlines Europe.
The expansion will see the airline offer up to 19 weekly departures from Cologne Bonn during the peak summer period, targeting both traditional holidaymakers and the ethnic travel market.
“We are very pleased to significantly expand our flight programme from Cologne Bonn this summer,” said Derya Kaya Bozay, commercial director at Freebird Airlines. “With these additional connections, we will offer up to 19 weekly flights during the peak season, including daily flights to Antalya and connections to some of the most popular holiday destinations from Germany.”
Bozay added that direct flights to Pristina would provide an additional travel option for ethnic travellers, broadening the airline’s offering.
Freebird, part of Gözen Holding, operates a fleet of 14 Airbus A320 aircraft and focuses on leisure routes between Europe and popular sun destinations, with Cologne Bonn forming an increasingly important base in its network.
