Former president of Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation Larry Flynn passed away on April 12, it has been announced.
According to an obituary published by the Island Funeral Home In South Carolina, the 71-year-old Flynn died after “a courageous battle with cancer”.
Flynn, a former vice president of General Dynamics, was “a devoted husband for 41 years and the best father and grandfather anyone could have asked for”, the family said in the obituary, describing him “as full of patience, humbleness, words of encouragement and guidance, a keen sense of humor, and an exceptional ability to make you smile”.
Flynn’s bereaved wife and daughters “will continue to honor his legacy by living each day to the fullest and always putting family first”,
Instead of flowers, the Flynn family has requested donations be made to the West Michigan Aviation Academy (www.wmaafoundation.org ) or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (donations@themmrf.org ).
General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) president and chief executive Pete Bunce said Flynn ”was a staunch champion of business aviation”.
“His expertise in all aspects of the industry helped shepherd the growth of Gulfstream and business aviation. Larry led an Illustrious career and devoted himself to furthering the recognition of the importance of general and business aviation,” Bunce added.
