Electric aircraft developer and manufacturer Eviation has appointed Andre Stein as CEO. Stein spent over 25 years at Embraer where he cofounded its eVTOL subsidiary Eve Air Mobility, where he also worked as CEO.
Stein has experience across product development, market strategy and commercial execution, which will prove beneficial to Eviation as it strives to push the Alice, its electric aircraft designed to hold nine passengers, through its next stages of certification.
"I look forward to working with Eviation’s team to take Alice through the next phases of its development and bring it to market, so passengers everywhere can enjoy sustainable and convenient commuter air travel," said Stein. Orders for Alice now exceed $5bn.
Eviation has also appointed Jeff Hurford as its chief financial officer. Hurford was previously a platform director for Cirrus Aircraft's SR1X program. He has held senior financial and program management roles in the aerospace industry, including 19 years at Gulfstream Aerospace.
"As we move ever closer toward certification and industrialisation of the Alice, I am thrilled to join Andre and the team to lead the aerospace industry’s transition to sustainability," said Hurford.
