Flybe, the UK’s largest regional airline, had a turbulent first day of full trading on the London Stock Exchange as the market was dulled by the news coming out of the Euro zone and the UK jobs market. Even so the airline managed to hold its own trading up 2p at 342p but fell back to 339.7p at the close. The big news of the day was the confirmation that George Soros had invested £7.2 million in the airline through his Quantum Partners vehicle giving him a 3.4% stake in all. It was also confirmed that Flybe had exercised its over allocation of shares raising an additional £6 million which will no doubt please BAML who acted as float manager.
