Airbus delivered its first A321XLR aircraft from its Toulouse site, Airbus VP single-aisle marketing Benjamin Peiron shared on LinkedIn on July 7, 2025. He did not disclose which company the aircraft was delivered to. Local media outlet La Depeche reported that the aircraft was delivered to Iberia — the first airline to operate the extra long range jet.
“Following our Hamburg facility, Toulouse is fully equipped to deliver the game-changing A321XLR, as a visible sign of our ramp up enabling our customers to operate ‘xtra long range’ routes with single aisle economics,” said Peiron.
Airbus added the A321 capabilities to the Lagardere facility in Toulouse in 2022. The facility had formerly served as the A380 facility.
Local media had reported that Airbus had begun assembling an A321XLR at the facility earlier this year.
