FL Technics Indonesia launches Base Maintenance services, welcomes first Boeing 737 NG

FL Technics, a global provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services, has announced that its subsidiary – FL Technics Indonesia – had launched Base Maintenance (BM) services in its facilities at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The first Boeing 737 has already reached the MRO center for a C-Check.

Following the receipt of the Indonesian DGCA’s base maintenance approval earlier in January 2017, FL Technics Indonesia welcomed its first base maintenance customer – Batik Air. The Indonesian carrier’s Boeing 737-800 will undergo a comprehensive set of C-Check works which are due to be finished in early February.

With 35 base maintenance specialists, FL Technics Indonesia provides routine maintenance, flight hours inspection, structure repairs, minor and major modifications, technical defect rectifications and other services. In the nearest future, the company plans to expand its geographical coverage by adding BM approvals from Thai, Cambodian, Malay and Vietnamese aviation authorities.

“We are happy to welcome Batik Air as our first base maintenance customer,” shared Martynas Grigalavicius, CEO of FL Technics Indonesia. “With the help of FL Technics Training, we have developed a strong MRO team which will be providing European-level services in heart of Indonesia. As we receive new approvals and more airlines entrust their aircraft to us, we plan to increase the BM staff to up to 200 members, as well as expand our infrastructure to 15 000 m2. We will also keep further adapting best practices from our European facilities for the benefit of our Asian Pacific customers.”

FL Technics Indonesia’s modern MRO center is located at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 9000 m2 facility accommodates up to 3 narrow-body airliners at a time. GMF Aeroasia first to sign up for Combined Airbus Manged Inventory (AMI) and Just In Time (JIT) services with Satair Group

GMF AeroAsia has signed a long-term agreement with Satair Group concerning the Airbus Managed Inventory (AMI) and Just In Time (JIT) services. The Airbus subsidiary Satair Group’s AMI solution optimises inventory management and ensures that high-usage and non-repairable parts are automatically replenished. To improve the competitiveness of GMF AeroAsia, AMI guarantees parts availability and decreases inventory stock and surplus levels. The JIT solution offers fixed pricing, consolidated shipments and exclusive stocking on behalf of the customer. Together with the AMI service, GMF AeroAsia will get comprehensive coverage of both consumables and expendables.

The scope of the AMI service initially is covering Airbus standard parts only, and the JIT solution covers Satair Group’s broad range of distribution lines. However, there is a possibility to adapt and add other material categories in line with business evolution, fleet growth and aircraft configuration changes.

He also added that GMF would like to undertake the right-sizing and adjusting of its inventory per their needs with the aim of gaining a competitive advantage.

The AMI automated inventory management solution supports MRO customers by reducing inventory holding cost. It captures material consumption intelligence in real-time, triggering automatically replenishment within the set-up inventory levels, granting high on-shelf part availability while decreasing overall inventory stock level and reducing cost.
