Fitch Ratings has published an update to its criteria for rating aircraft enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETCs). This replaces the previous report of the same title, dated May 12, 2016. Modifications to the report include a reduction to the minimum number of aircraft required to achieve a ‘AA’ category rating from 10 to five for portfolios consisting of widebody aircraft. The report also modifies the liquidity facility provider ratings threshold for certificates rated in the ‘AA’ category.
TSA partners with Frontier Airlines to offer TSA PreCheck
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has expanded TSA PreCheck to include eligible customers of Frontier Airlines effective immediately.
TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program that enables trusted travelers to enjoy a smart and efficient screening experience at more than 180 U.S. airports. For TSA PreCheck travelers, there is no need to remove shoes, laptops, liquids, belts and light jackets. In August 2016, 97 percent of TSA PreCheck passengers experienced wait times of five minutes or less.
“Working in partnership with airlines like Frontier enables our officers to provide travelers a better screening experience without compromising security,” said TSA Administrator Peter Neffenger. “TSA is working closely with the aviation community to improve the traveling experience and one way is by offering expedited screening for trusted travelers at airport security checkpoints.”
Travelers flying on Frontier Airlines will now have the opportunity to receive TSA PreCheck when using a home-printed boarding pass, mobile boarding pass and boarding pass printed at the airport check-in desk or kiosk. If a Frontier Airlines passenger is eligible for expedited screening, a TSA PreCheck indicator will be printed on the boarding pass, which provides access to expedited screening lanes.
