The first aircraft of an additional order of 100 C919 jets placed by China Eastern Airlines last year has been delivered. This delivery brings China Eastern Airlines' fleet of C919 to six.
China Eastern Airlines said it will launch a charter flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai on a C919 jet on June 1, 2024, which is expected to carry Hong Kong university students traveling to Shanghai for an exchange program. It will mark the first commercial flight of the C919 outside the Chinese mainland.
The airline expects to increase its C919 fleet to ten by the end of the year.
