In September, Finnair's overall capacity was flat and traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres decreased by 1.2% year‐on‐year. Passenger load factor was 80.2%.

The capacity in Asian traffic decreased by 5% and the traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres by 2.9% year‐on‐year.

European traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres grew by 9.8% and capacity by 13.6% year-on-year.

In July–September, the passenger unit revenue per available seat kilometre fell by 2% year‐on-year and totalled 5.76 euro cents.

“The third quarter was seasonally strong, as typical. However, due to challenging market conditions, passenger unit revenue fell slightly year-on-year,” says Finnair CFO Erno Hildén.

Leisure traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres decreased by 33.4% and capacity decreased by 32.7% year-on-year.

In cargo, traffic measured in revenue tonne kilometres decreased by 0.8% and the overall capacity by 8.7% year-on-year. The load factor improved by 5.2 percentage points from last year’s level and was 64.6%.

In September, 92.9% of scheduled flights arrived on schedule (91.0).  Of all traffic, 92.7% (90.4) of flights were on schedule.
