Finnair has appointed two new members to its Executive Board with Ole Orvér being named chief commercial officer, and Nicklas Ilebrand taking up the role of senior vice president of strategy. Both new Executive Board members will start in their roles on May 1, 2019.

Orvér, 53, has a long international career in several airlines, including Qatar Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, Air Berlin and SAS. In these airlines, he has mainly served in leadership positions in strategy, network management and sales. Most recently, he has worked as a consultant for both airlines and airport operators.

Ilebrand, 38, has previously worked at Nordea mainly in strategy and product and business development roles. He worked most recently as the Head of Product and Business Development of Personal Banking at Nordea Bank. Prior to that, he worked in international business consulting at McKinsey. He has also served on the board of several companies.

Commenting on the appointments, Finnair’s CEO Topi Manner said: “I think Ole and Nicklas’ experience in international business development complements well the strong competencies we currently have in Finnair’s Executive Board.

“Ole Orvér has a long career working for several airlines, each with their own business logic. Nicklas Ilebrand has solid experience in strategy development as well as in digital products and service business development. We welcome both Ole and Nicklas warmly to the Finnair team.”
