Finnair adopts Avios loyalty scheme
Finnair has officially adopted the Avios loyalty currency used by the Finnish airline’s oneworld loyalty partners, bringing it in line with British Airways Executive Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and Iberia Plus. “We are always looking for new ways to enhance the customer proposition to earn the loyalty of Finnair’s most loyal customers and know this landmark change will open the door to even more opportunities,” said Ole Orvér, Finnair’s chief commercial officer. The airline’s current loyalty programme has over four million members worldwide. Alongside adopting the Avios scheme, Finnair is also increasing the number of award seats departing from 1 February 2024, its most popular award among members. Finnair Plus members can now also benefit from free internet messaging access on Finnair’s short-haul European flights operated with its narrow-body Airbus fleet, regardless of their tier status. From later this Spring, Finnair customers will also have the opportunity to transfer Avios between Finnair Plus and British Airways Executive Club Accounts with a 1:1 ratio.
