FEEDER TRAFFIC AGREEMENT CLOSE BETWEEN FINNAIR AND NAS

A feeder traffic agreement is imminent between low cost carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (NAS) and Finnair, according to NAS’s CEO. Bjoern Kjos said: “We’re working on it and we expect it will be settled in not too long.”

NAS is aiming to add long-haul routes to its network when it takes delivery of two 787s from ILFC on 12 year leases from 2012, however the agreement with Finnair will allow the carrier to funnel passengers onto Finnair’s long-haul flights to Asia.

The alliance has been delayed owing to the incompatibility of the airlines’ information-technology systems but Kjos is confident the deal will be sealed soon.
