FedEx’s pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), are going ahead with “a strike authorisation ballot”.
Voting will open Tuesday, April 18, ALPA and the carrier’s pilots announced, after an impasse was reached in what they described as “mediated negotiations for a new employment contract for the pilots”
“We do not make a decision like this lightly, but we intend to send a strong and unified message to management that our pilots are willing to go the distance to achieve the contract we have earned,” said pilot Chris Norman, Chris Norman, chair of the FedEx ALPA Master Executive Council. “
ALPA and FedEx have been in mediated talks under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) since October 2022.
“It’s time for FedEx management to get serious at the bargaining table and conclude negotiations with an agreement our pilots will support,” Norman said.
