FedEx Express has deployed a Boeing 777 Freighter (777F) to service the direct connection from Hong Kong to the FedEx Europe hub in Paris, France. The 777F offers a payload improvement of 50,000 lbs. per week compared to the MD-11 previously used.
“The new aircraft and additional capacity enhances FedEx connectivity between the two regions. This latest deployment reflects how we continue to listen and respond to our customers’ shipping needs,” said David L. Cunningham, Jr, president, FedEx Express Asia Pacific. “It also positions FedEx well for an anticipated increase in trade as the European economy gradually recovers.”
The direct service from Hong Kong to Charles de Gaulle was launched in April 2010. The cargo airline now operates five 777F services from Asia.
