Fastmarkets launches new voluntary carbon pricing and news service

International price-reporting agency Fastmarkets has launched its voluntary carbon pricing and news service on December 18, 2024. The company said the services will act as a resource for businesses and investors to navigate sustainability-focussed decisions.

Fastmarket said it will launch a comprehensive analytical release in 2025, which will complement its price data with forecasts and insights into the carbon credit market. The company added that this will provide “greater transparency and customer benefit”.

“Our comprehensive price references across various project sectors will empower the market to scale efficiently,” said Fastmarkets CEO Raju Daswani.

The company's strategic markets editor for voluntary carbon Sam Carew added: “Our goal is to deliver granular assessments that provide valuable insights to project developers, industry analysts, and market participants, thus enhancing their ability to manage procurement needs and market trends with precision.”

The initial pricing and news launch focuses on regional project type assessments, differentials, and the carbon offsetting and reduction scheme for international aviation (CORSIA).
