Falko added nine aircraft to its portfolio in the fourth quarter of 2024 after acquiring Nordic Aviation Capital's (NAC) E-Jet portfolio.
The company sold 12 aircraft in the quarter, including three E175s, one CRJ900, seven Q400s, and one ATR72 aircraft. In addition, the company sold two CF34 engines in the period. Falko said the buyers were a mix of airlines, lessors, and OEMs, mostly from North America. Leases relating to 11 aircraft were extended by three customers.
In total, Falko concluded transactions relating to 32 aircraft and two engines during the quarter.
During the whole 2024, Falko concluded transactions relating to 102 aircraft and eight engines. This included the acquisition of 24 aircraft with leases attached, sales of 30 aircraft and seven engines, as well as new leases or lease extensions relating to 48 aircraft and one engine.
“Against an improving macroeconomic backdrop compared to recent years, Falko saw another year of very strong activity levels, with total transactions involving a hundred aircraft,” said Falko chief commercial officer Mark Hughes.
He added: “For 2025, our expectation is that the current imbalance between aircraft demand and supply will continue, maintaining the requirement for airlines to extend a large proportion of maturing leases.”
