In a summary of its third quarter activities, regional aircraft lessor, Falko Regional Aircraft (Falko), disclosed that it signed agreements relating to the acquisition of 14 regional aircraft with seven aircraft delivered during the quarter. Falko sold four aircraft and signed lease agreements or extensions for 13 aircraft. A further ATR simulator was acquired in Europe. In addition, Falko signed LOIs relating to the lease of 12 Embraer EJet aircraft with three separate airline customers in Europe and North America. As at 30 September 2021, Falko’s portfolio totalled 124 aircraft on lease to 22 customers worldwide.
Aircraft acquisitions focused on Embraer regional jets and ATR72 turboprop aircraft including a previously announced transaction with Indigo.
“The regional market continues to outperform other parts of the aviation sector with strong demand for all aircraft types from operators worldwide. The strong pipeline that we referenced at the half year is now flowing through to portfolio activity,” said Mark Hughes, Falko’s chief commercial officer. “The secondary EJet market remains particularly strong with Falko securing transactions for all variants during the quarter. We are very pleased at the level of interest now coming from the European market which is building on the growth seen over the summer season.
We have also continued to invest in our sector during Q3 2021 with further acquisitions funded by the Falko Regional Aircraft Opportunities Fund II. We remain confident that we can finalise some further investments in the fourth quarter.”
