FAA signs a deal with Korea for development of Advanced Air Mobility projects

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Korea Office of Civil Aviation (KOCA) have signed a Declaration of Cooperation towards the development and operations of future Advanced Air Mobility projects.

Under the agreement, the two agencies will collaborate on AAM projects and share ideas, information, skills, and techniques. The FAA and KOCA will also work together to promote the safety oversight of AAM, including airworthiness, licensing, and operations.

Billy Nolen, acting FAA administrator said: “Collaborating with our international partners on safely integrating these new technologies will create more efficient, sustainable and equitable transportation options.”

The announcement follows the FAA’s partnerships with Japan and with the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in the National Aviation Authorities Network to harmonize certification criteria and integration plans.
