A trial date has been set for a lawsuit brought by the Federal Aviation Administration in November against Southwest Airlines for non-payment of a $12 million fine imposed on the airline following a 2009 case when a Southwest Airlines contractor performed repairs on Boeing 737s using a method not approved at that time.
The two sides are in dispute over the suspension of the five-year statute of limitations and the fine itself.
