FAA SAYS FLIGHT DELAYS COST PASSENGERS MONEY

A study by the Federal Aviation Administration, which looked at the costs for flight delays in 2007, found that the cost for airlines was $8.3 billion. The bulk of that cost was for crew, fuel and maintenance. However the overall cost for delays was determined to be $33 billion, with half of that cost being borne by passengers in lost time and being forced to make other arrangements.
