Emilio Chacon Monsant has joined PLAY as the head of ancillary revenue. Prior to joining PLAY, Monsant was the head of ancillary revenue at Ryanair. Apart from Ryananir, he has also worked for Vueling, Avianca and Aero Mexico.
In his role, Monsant will integrate work procedures between PLAY´s departments to put the airline in a great position to tap into existing opportunities for ancillary revenue and create new ones. Ancillary revenue has been on the rise at PLAY airlines and the airline claims that Monsant hiring is an important step towards increasing this important revenue stream.
“Monsant’s hiring is a great acquisition for us at PLAY. He brings a lot of experience into the airline which will be an advantage when it comes to increasing our ancillary revenue, an important part of our financial standing,” said Sonja Arnórsdóttir, chief commercial officer.
Monsant is from Barcelona in Spain where PLAY already operates flights to eight destinations.
“I am thrilled to join PLAY at an exciting time in this young airline’s history. PLAY has been in a steep ramp-up phase for the past two years but now has the all-important pillars to move into its next phase. It is in a perfect position to make great things happen and I am looking forward to achieving these ambitious goals with this great team,” added Monsant.
