US-based electric aircraft developer Eviation has signed a letter of intent with British regional aircraft lessor Monte for up to 30 of its Alice aircraft.
Alice is "the world’s first flight-tested all-electric commuter plane," Eviation said adding that it has orders valued at more than $4bn for the aircraft.
"Passing the four billion threshold is a significant marketplace endorsement for the Alice. We are thrilled to welcome Monte as our latest customer, as they share our vision for a new era of sustainable, responsible aviation,” said Gregory Davis, president and chief executive of Eviation.
"The Alice is a unique, well-designed and pioneering aircraft that we are excited to offer to our global customers in
the regional aviation industry,"said Rishi Majithia, director of Monte, which is to provide financing and leasing solutions for the aircraft and its charging infrastructure to its global customer base of regional aircraft operators.
