EVFLY and Al Shaheen Aviation sign MoU

Electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft company EVLFY has signed a memorandum of understanding with Al Shaheen Aviation, the aviation division of YAS Holding in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The MoU was signed at the Dubai Air Show 2023 and will see the two companies "stimulate innovation and growth in the air mobility industry, develop national talent, and strengthen stakeholder capacity for engaging in urban air mobility mostly in the UAE."

EVFLY, which manages and operates eVTOLs, announced that the deal entails the establishment of "a phased approach partnership that promotes effective use of collaboratively developed information and knowledge" and will be "in accordance with relevant GCAA regulations".

EVFLY founder and chief executive Yannick Erbs described the deal as "great news for EVFLY as it will strengthen its position in the AAM industry and create jobs in this sector in the UAE.”

" Together, we will work towards accelerating the adoption of AAM and eVTOLs, fostering innovation, and nurturing local talent," said YAS Holding's aviation division chief executive Efgan Dengür, who believes it "will play a vital role in transforming the way people move in urban areas and provide significant benefits to the UAE".
