EVA Air takes delivery of its eighth B787-10 with Star Alliance livery

EVA Air recently took delivery of its eighth Boeing 787-10 aircraft. The new aircraft is EVA Air’s first Boeing 787-10 with a Star Alliance livery and it made its ferry flight with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), reducing carbon emissions.

This ferry flight was EVA Air’s first SAF operation, using 30% SAF the airline reduced its carbon emissions by approximately 70,000 kilogrammes. The proportion of SAF was also the highest ever used in Taiwan’s aviation industry, symbolising EVA Air’s determination to achieve Net Zero.

The aircraft departed Charleston Airport and after flying for approximately 17 hours, landed at Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport

Clay Sun, President, EVA Air said: “This new 787-10 delivery gave us the opportunity to both celebrate our 10th year of membership with Star Alliance livery and use Sustainable Aviation Fuel on our ferry flight. These actions symbolise the close connection between EVA Air and Star Alliance and demonstrate EVA’s commitment to reaching Net Zero by 2050.”

EVA Air has left no stone unturned to upgrade and improve hardware and software, meeting passenger needs through joint procurement, joint system development and resource sharing, the airline said. The synergy with Star Alliance has both helped EVA boost revenue from passenger operations by close to 5 % annually and multiply its international corporate contract customers by 10 times.
