EVA Air has announced the initiation of a code-share agreement with fellow Star Alliance member, Avianca, making travel between Asia and Central America much more convenient for both the airlines’ passengers. Effective as of 17 August, the new code-share agreement will enable EVA Air’s passengers to connect through Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco to connect with Avianca flights to San Salvador, whilst Avianca’s passengers will be able to connect through the same US airports for flights to Taipei.
EVA Air will now be able to offer its passengers multiple itinerary choices for flying to the region of Central and South America, where Avianca is the primary Star Alliance operator of flights. Passengers can now connect on nearly 20 flights a week to San Salvador, which can be reached from Taipei, via the United States, in approximately 20 hours, including transit time. Taiwan’s leading airline is constantly striving to give its passengers increased convenience and flexibility and will continue to evaluate the feasibility of flying to other major cities in the Central and South America region.
