Eurowings has deployed Optifly’s scheduling software across its entire fleet for five years. Optifly claims that the software will increase utilisation, lower the cost base, and increase the productivity of the fleet and staff to help Eurowings plans to return to growth across Europe.
Michael Haendel, Vice President of Network Management and Airport Relations at Eurowings, said: “The first time I saw a demo of the Optifly product I knew this was a game-changer. The increase in utilisation from optimizing for additional seats or sectors, and the speed at which they build clean sheet schedules, and minutes, are truly remarkable. This allows my teams to experiment with multiple different scenarios and better decide how to deploy our capacity.”
Eurowings also adds that Optifly’s Artificial Intelligence-based smarter scheduling practices will not only enable its route expansion but also help in experimenting with turning up and down dials on numerous different constraints to help build a highly utilised schedule.
