Following the increase of Etihad Airways’ stake in Virgin Australia to 22.96%, Etihad’s President and Chief Executive, James Hogan, has been appointed a non-executive director to the board of Virgin Australia. Board seats were also offered to its other major airline investors, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand, which with Etihad collectively control around 70% of the Australian airline.
