Etihad, Vietnam Airlines expand codeshare partnership

Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines have expanded their codeshare partnership, building on the the launch of frequent flyer partnership earlier this year.

Under the new codeshare, which will be implemented gradually, Vietnam Airlines passengers will gain access to six destinations beyond Abu Dhabi: Athens, Addis Ababa, Bahrain, Muscat, Cairo, and Istanbul.

The new partnership complements the launch of Etihad’s first direct service from Abu Dhabi to Hanoi, which began on November 5, 2025.

Etihad and Vietnam Airlines already have a frequent flyer partnership that enables loyalty members of both airlines to earn and redeem miles across their combined global networks.

The partnership, which launched in July 2025, allows Etihad Guest and Lotusmiles members to accrue and use their rewards when flying with either carrier.

The news was announced on the final day of the Dubai Airshow. On the same day, Vietnam Airlines also announced an expanded codeshare agreement with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS).
