Etihad Airways has finalized a partnership deal with Phillippine Airlines that will include codesharing, loyalty programmes, airport lounges and joint sales-and-marketing schemes.
The deal is an expansion of a Memorandum of Understanding that was signed earlier in 2014.
Etihad CEO James Hogan said: “This new partnership builds on the success of our original codeshare agreement and reflects the mutual respect, trust and goodwill that have built up over time — not only between the airlines but also between our governments.”
The codesharing scheme will initially cover flights between Abu Dhabi and Manila, and flights from Manila to 20 destinations throughout the Phillippines.
The airlines have also signed a letter of intent covering cargo on all passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Manila, as well as connecting airfreight into Africa, Australia, the Middle East and South East Asia.
