UAE national airline Etihad Airways carried 1.5 million passengers in June, up from 1.1 million last year. Its load factor remained the same as June last year at 86%.
Year to date as of June 2024, Etihad has carried 8.7 million, up from 6.3 million when comparing the same period last year. In addition, year to date load factor was 85% - the same as last year.
""Our passenger load factor is healthy at 85% for the year, even though we have seen significant capacity expansion compared to 2023,"" said Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves.
Compared to June last year, its fleet size has grown from 76 to 92 aircraft and passenger destinations from 66 to 76.
In June Etihad delivered on its plans to expand its network launching eight additional locations including Bali, Jaipur and Al Qassim and seasonal destinations Nice, Antalya, Mykonos, Santorini and Malaga.
