Edinburgh Airport, now part of the VINCI Airports network, has launched its draft noise action plan (NAP) for 2024 to 2028. It will now seek feedback from communities to discuss the plan.
The airport will hold a series of online meetings with local communities and other key stakeholders, which will act as a platform for views to be put forward.
“It's extremely important to us that we listen to and work with those living in areas most impacted when formulating our plans around noise management and mitigation,” said Edinburgh Airport chief communications and sustainability officer Gordon Robertson.
The airport already has some noise mitigating measures in place such as penalties for airlines with aircraft that exceed certain noise levels, a noise insulation scheme for properties most impacted, and installation of fixed noise monitors and public access to this data.
