Etihad: 46% year-on-year passenger growth for February
Etihad Airways has released its traffic statistics for February 2024, highlighting a 46% year-on-year growth in passenger numbers. Its year-to-date passenger figures, currently at 2.9 million, are also 40% higher than in February 2023. Load factor rose one percentage point to 89%. “February was a busy month; we strengthened our fleet, welcoming three new 787-9s, a move which is aligned to our network expansion strategy of adding new destinations and expanding frequencies into key markets,” highlighted Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad Airways CEO. Etihad’s fleet stands currently stands at 89 aircraft, an increase of 15 from this time last year. These will be instrumental for the carrier’s expansion, which has increased its total passenger destinations from 64 in February 2023 to 69 in February 2024. Two additional new routes to Antalya, Turkey and Jaipur, India are also set to commence later this year.
