Ethiopian Airlines is celebrating International Women's Day with an all-female operated flight from Addis Ababa to London Heathrow. The flight will be commanded by Captain Kalkidan Girma, the airline's female captain of the A350.
""This all-women-functioned flight initiative not only empowers women but also sends a powerful message about gender equality,"" said Girma. ""We want to inspire future generations of female aviators"".
Ethiopian Airlines CEO Mesfin Tasew added: ""Today, we shine a spotlight on these trailblazers who are not only shaping the legacy of Ethiopian Airlines but also inspiring future generations of women in aviation.""
The event was celebrated at Ethiopian Skylight Hotel amongst government officials, ambassadors, and other guests.
