Ethiopian Airlines has placed a major order for premium lie-flat seats from RTX’s Collins Aerospace, as announced at the Dubai Airshow.
Under the agreement, 11 new Airbus A350-900 aircraft will be fitted with Collins Elevation suites, and 56 737 MAX aircraft will be fitted with Collins Parallel Diamond business class seats.
The order adds to a previous agreement between Ethiopian and Collins, which will also provide its Elevation suites for up to 20 Boeing 777-9 widebodies, which were ordered by the flag carrier last year.
The Elevation suite is designed in a reverse herringbone formation, offering larger open space, a private door and integrated stowage systems.
The Parallel Diamond seat follows an advanced kinematic design and is angled toward the windows to maximise passenger space, privacy and cabin density on single-aisle aircraft. Each seat transforms into a 78” (198cm) lie-flat bed.
