An Ethiopian Airlines flight has made an emergency landing at Senegal's Blaise Diagne International Airport after an engine caught fire following takeoff.
A spokesman for Blaise Diagne International Airport said that the flight, which was headed to Addis Ababa via Bamako, Mali, called the control tower quickly after takeoff Tuesday morning requesting an emergency landing.
Ethiopian Airlines reported on Twitter that the incident, which took place on a Boeing 767 aircraft, was due to a “technical problem” but didn't provide any more details.
A report of the incident said that the pilots reported that the right engine was on fire. The plane landed and an emergency fire crew quickly put out the flames.
It has been said that none of the 90 passengers or flight crew on board were injured.
