Eswatini Air starts commercial operations with first flight to Johannesburg

Eswatini Air recently conducted successful first flight from King Mswati III International Airport, Manzini to O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Eswatini Air has set its commercial launch in four phases, Phase I was the launch of inaugural flight to Johannesburg, twice daily. Phase II will commence on April 14 with four flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The next phase will add Harare to the schedule starting April 14, 2023, with four more flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays,

And the final launch phase and will add Cape Town to the route network beginning June 2, 2023 with thrice weekly flights.

The airline currently has two Embraer ERJ 145 jets in its fleet. The aircraft were delivered to the airline by Embraer in 1998-99 and are leased from Acia Aero Capital, a Turkish leasing company.

Initially Eswatini Air planned to start commercial flights in June 2022 but the airline obtained the air operator certificate towards the end of last year.
