Eritrea, a country in East Africa and South Sudan will soon have air connectivity with direct flight connecting the two countries. Recently, Paulos Kahsai, Director General of the Eritrean Civil Aviation Authority met the Director of Aviation Safety of South Sudan's Civil Aviation Authority to discuss plans for growing their partnership.
Recently the Kenyan and Eritrean governments removed the visa requirement criterion for their citizen.
Asmara airport is the largest airport and the only operational airport in Eritrea. It serves flights to and from Dubai International (DXB), Cairo International Airport (CAI), and Addis Ababa International (ADD).
In June 2022, an agreement was signed to establish direct flights between Juba International Airport in South Sudan and Asmara to enhance business, trade, and tourism between the two countries.
