Polish airline Enter Air has purchased 49.9% of shares in Germania Flug, the former subsidiary of the defunct German airline Germania, from Abex Aviation.
The deal is said to be worth approximately €1.8 million and also includes an option to take over the future line control package.
Germania Flug AG filed for bankruptcy on February 4, citing last year’s high fuel costs coupled with a strong US dollar against the euro.
Enter Air has a current fleet of 21 Boeing 737-800 and two Boeing 737 Max 8. However, since the grounding of these jets worldwide, these are now stored. Germania Flug AG is operating with three Airbus A319-100.
