Emriates inks MoU with Icelandair and GO7
Emirates has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Icelandair to expand their existing interline partnership into a reciprocal codeshare agreement. Icelandair president and CEO Bogi Nils Bogason said: ""Emirates will become Icelandair’s 7th global airline codeshare partner. We have and will continue to expand our network of partner airlines, focusing on working with airlines that offer great service and connectivity."" The destinations offered through the codeshare agreement will be announced at a later date. The Middle East carrier also signed a MoU with travel technology and ticketing company GO7 to work towards enabling Emirates to offer interline and rail tickets worldwide through its direct and indirect channels, outside of the traditional booking ecosystem. ""Passengers will be able to complete their journeys seamlessly with multiple airlines and rail operators through a single ticket, bypassing traditional industry channels,"" said GO7 chief distribution officer Peer Winter. ""Together, we will open up new travel opportunities, and more choices for customers wishing to travel across Europe,"" said Emirates Airline deputy president and chief commercial officer. ""We believe that these partnerships will bring real benefits to our customers and business."" The MoUs were signed at the ITB Travel Show in Berlin.
