Both Emirates and Turkish Airlines are now allowing passengers on flights to the United States to board with larger devices in the cabin after both carriers worked with the US authorities to assure them of their more stringent safety measures.
The ban on laptops was lifted for Etihad on Sunday for its flights to the US from Abu Dhabi after US authorities found it had put tighter security checks in place.
Emirates said in a statement: "Effective immediately, the electronics ban has been lifted for Emirates' flights from Dubai International Airport to the USA."
Turkish Airlines confirmed via Twitter that all electronic devices would be allowed on its US flights from today.
