Emirates has selected Thales AVANT UP inflight entertainment solution (IFE) for its new fleet of Airbus A350s.
Thales claims that AVANT Up will introduce many industry firsts to further enhance the inflight customer experience. It features 4K QLED HDR IFE screens, USB-C fast charging for customer devices, and personalisation of the entertainment experience.
Adel al Redha, Emirates’ Chief Operating Officer said: “Emirates ice remains unmatched in inflight entertainment content and experience, having won best-in-the-sky awards consecutively for the past 14 years. Our investment in next-generation Thales systems for our new A350 fleet will further our lead and enable us to deliver even better experiences to our customers. Watch this space.”
Emirates has also selected several other AVANT Up digital services like highly integrated personalization features, expanded personal electronic device (PED) capabilities, and user interface enhancements enabling visually impaired passengers for an immersive experience.

Further strengthening the partnership, Thales and Emirates are working on an aviation-specific incubator in Dubai’s Aviation XLab for a more advanced passenger experience.
Meanwhile, Thales is planning to expand its presence in North America by hiring new talent. In the last few days, Thales has recruited over 1000 new employees with plans to hire 300 more. With this expansion, Thales employee count in US and Canada has reached a whooping 6,200 positions.
